Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler has contributed $2,500 to the reward for information leading to the capture and arrest of a dog killer in Los Angeles. The reward has now been raised to $22,500.

A witness to the incident said they saw a small dog escape from a Dodge Caravan on the 14th, and then the owner got out of the van and beat the animal to death. The driver left the dog on the sidewalk and drove away.

Geezer Butler tells the story behind his bar fight

Butler's involvement in the case was announced by Judy Mancuso, the president of an animal rights advocacy group. Geezer is known for being a vegan and animal rights advocate , having recently become involved in the cause for a New York law prohibiting cat declawing.
