Geddy Lee , bassist for Rush , revealed in an interview that he received inappropriate messages from drummers wanting to replace Neil Peart after his death.

The musician appeared on the Strombo's Lit : “Oh yeah, I heard from all sorts [of people],” Geddy said ( via Blabbermouth ). “That was a really weird time. My shortlist filled up really quickly.”

The presenter commented on these being people Lee considered friends. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, ‘Wow, this is so inappropriate right now. Dude, wait two months. At least two months – if ever.’ That still happens, now that the clickbait freaks are out there talking about Alex [Lifeson] and I getting a new drummer and starting Rush again.”

Rush meeting

Geddy Lee gave an interview to CTV Morning Live in which he talked about his future plans for Rush.

The musician explained ( via Ultimate Classic Rock ): “If I say anything about working with Alex, people assume Rush is getting back together. That’s not the case. Yes, Alex and I still like each other very much. We hang out a lot. And we both have a desire to try writing songs together. We don’t know if that will come to fruition or not.”
