Gatecreeper ’s newest song with a music video . It’s part of their new album, Dark Superstition , scheduled for release on May 17th. While the band has made its name in death metal, this first single showcases a more melodic and accessible side.
While the vocals are quite characteristic of death metal, the melody is more reminiscent of alternative metal. The idea behind the song was explained by Chase H. Mason in a press release reproduced on Consequence Of Sound : “It’s about being trapped between living and dying, a soul stuck in purgatory begging to be brought back by a supernatural force.”
New album Dark Superstition comes out on May 17th.
After three years, Gatecreeper will release Dark Superstition, the band's third death metal album. Kurt Ballou recorded and mixed it at his God City in Salem, Massachusetts. The full release will be on May 17th.
Regarding the album, Mason explained: “Many of the songs incorporate supernatural ideas from my own experiences. But the title itself is a reference to the Superstition Mountains in our home state of Arizona. It’s a beautiful mountain range surrounded by tragedies and legends of hidden fortune.”
