Lacuna Coil has released the new single “Hosting the Shadow”, which features a special guest appearance by Lamb Of God Randy Blythe .
The Italians, who were recently in Brazil for the second edition of Summer Breeze Brasil , released the track "In the Mean Time" earlier this year, featuring Ashley Costello of New Years Day .
“'Hosting the Shadow' is a journey through light and darkness, where silence reveals its hidden secrets,” stated Lacuna Coil ( via Consequence Net ). “Dark moments can become opportunities to evolve, to learn to master one's own shadow—which is crucial to prevailing. Randy Blythe did an incredible job on this track, we absolutely love his voice and his evil laugh!”
The band continued, “Our admiration for him is boundless, and having him as a guest on this song is a dream come true. Partnering with a friend you immensely respect, who also rocks stages around the world: there’s nothing better than that. We’re looking forward to the day we can play 'Hosting the Shadow' live together!”
The Lamb Of God vocalist also stated: “I was super excited when Lacuna Coil asked me to sing a song with them — I’m not just a huge fan of their music, they’re truly beautiful souls who have been like family to me for 20 years. We’ve played shows together all over the world, and I’ve always wanted to get on stage and sing with them — I can’t wait until that actually happens with ‘Hosting the Shadow’!”

In an exclusive interview with Wikimetal , vocalist Andrea Ferro commented on the new album : “We’re in a good place right now. We have demos for almost the entire album. Almost, like, maybe two or three songs still need to be finished.”
“Obviously, we’ll listen to some of it and see if we still like it after the tour. We’re going on tour in April and May, and after we get back, we’ll listen to everything and see if we still like it, and then we can be ready to go into the studio.”
