The ceremony was attended by friends and family.

The funeral of guitarist Malcolm Young took place on Tuesday, the 28th, in Sydney, Australia. Malcolm founded the band AC/DC with his brother Angus in 1973 and passed away on November 18th at the age of 64 after suffering from dementia for years.

Hundreds of people gathered at St Mary's Cathedral in the Australian city to honor the musician. His bandmates, Angus, Cliff Williams (bass) and Brian Johnson (vocals) joined Phil Rudd (former drummer) and Mark Evans (former bassist) and celebrated Malcolm's life in a ceremony.

Family members, including David Albert, who was also the band's manager, delivered moving speeches about the musician. "He was a quiet, humble, and discreet man ," said Albert.

One of Malcolm's guitars was brought to the wake as part of the tribute and was later carried by his brother Angus (see photos below).

After the wake, a bagpipe band performed a medley of AC/DC songs such as "It's A Long Way To The Top," "Waltzing Matilda," and "Road To Gundagai."

Malcolm retired in 2014 after announcing he was suffering from dementia. Brian Johnson had to step away from the band in 2016 when his doctors warned him about possible hearing loss. Currently, Angus is the only original member of the band still active and has not yet revealed what his plans are for the future.
