In July, the music world was taken by surprise by the shock caused by the death of Joey Jordison , former drummer and founding member of Slipknot . Jordison died at the age of 46, and to date the cause of his death has not been revealed.

Sinsaenum 's bandmate , Frédéric Leclercq , spoke with the metal channel Impact in an interview that has only now been released. During the conversation, Frédéric was asked if he knew the cause of Jordison's death, to which he replied:

“It’s not up to me to talk about it. Of course I know. I’m just saying it’s not my place. The [Jordison] family asked for privacy at that time and I respect that. It’s very sad.” The official statement released by Joey Jordison’s family only said that the drummer “died peacefully in his sleep.”

Speaking about his friend's legacy, Frédéric said: “For me, he was more than a musician. He was, first and foremost, a friend, so I lost a friend who was only 46 years old and that hurts. He was an incredible musician, not only on drums, but he also wrote incredible songs and we were lucky to play together. It was great.”

Frédéric also mentioned the fact that the last show Joey Jordison played was a Sinsaenum show. “I have a column in a Japanese magazine called Young Guitar , and I was writing yesterday and remembered that the only song he ever played in his life was 'My Swan Song,' and I think the title is… That’s a song he really loved. He felt something for it. It’s a little strange to think about it now. I’ve been listening to that song again and again and again. I’m still processing the fact that he’s gone.”
