The film is expected to be released in 2018.
Production of the Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody , has been suspended due to the "unexpected unavailability" of the film's director, Bryan Singer.
According to The Hollywood Reporter , Singer did not return to the film set after the Thanksgiving holiday, which took place on November 23rd.
A representative for the director told the British BBC that his absence was due to a "health issue involving Bryan and his family .
Sources close to the production made a different statement, claiming that the director had previously expressed problems with his co-workers, including actor Rami Malek, who plays Mercury.
It was also revealed that the director once failed to show up on set, forcing one of his colleagues to direct.
With this, the production is considering replacing the director. While no official statement has been made, the decision should be announced soon, given that the film is scheduled for release on December 25, 2018.
