Through music journalist Mitch Lafon Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali announced that he has cancer.
"I just wanted to tell all my friends and fans what's actually happening to me and why I had to miss some commitments this year. Since April 17th, I've been battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer."
Having been with Quiet Riot since 1982, Banali also played with the band WASP , and commented that he is confident in the treatment:
“The original prognosis was very frightening. I had a very difficult battle ahead of me, but I am very grateful to be able to say that after several rounds of chemotherapy and other treatments, I am showing signs of regression. The road ahead will not be easy, but cancer has found an opponent and I intend to keep fighting.”
“I really wanted to be with you at every Quiet Riot show, as it was the first time in 38 years that I missed a show.” Frank Banali also said that he feels much better and stronger now
“I plan to play with Quiet Riot at the Whiskey A Go Go show on Saturday, October 26th, and continue touring in 2020, so I hope to see you all there. I appreciate the support of all the Quiet Riot fans and hope you will continue to support us and keep me in your thoughts and prayers.”
"Peace and love, Frankie Banali"
