Frank Fontsere, former drummer of Fozzy, speaks out about leaving the band: "My life is just beginning."

The musician confirmed that he intends to spend more time with his family, but also assured that he has plans for the future

Last Monday, the 3rd, the band Fozzy announced the departure of drummer and founding member Frank Fontsere after more than 20 years of performing.

At the time, the band claimed that Frank had left to focus on his family and other projects, which was confirmed by the drummer this Thursday, the 6th, in a post on his social media.

In a lengthy statement, Fontsere admitted that the decision to leave Fozzy was "very painful" and thanked everyone for the support he received in recent days, but also offered a full explanation for his departure from the band.

“As mentioned in Monday’s post, the reason I need to step away is that I no longer want to spend time away from home. Honestly, traveling has always been my least favorite aspect of being in a band. Going on tour becomes increasingly difficult when you have a wife and a child, especially a child who just turned 7 and is growing and changing daily.”

Frank Fontsere also said that the difficulty in balancing his personal and professional life was "affecting" his "love for playing drums," and that the activity was beginning to feel "more like a job than a passion," which he considers "lethal" when you're in a band. "I need a change," he wrote.

Despite the farewells, Frank assures us that this isn't the last we'll hear from him. "You won't get rid of me that easily," he states. "I have many plans for the future, including creating art and making drum videos. In many ways, I feel like my life is just beginning."
