The band Fourkaos has become one of the most prominent exponents of the metal genre today, what many are calling modern metal. With heavyweight representatives like Jinjer , Gojira , and Lamb of God , this broad branch of heavy metal has in Fourkaos one of the main names representing the Brazilian scene with this approach, especially after the success of the band's first album, Remnants of Sanity Best Heavy Metal Band category , an event scheduled for November 7, 2021.
“Hell is Others”, which had already been released as a single, had its music video pre-released at the 17th edition of the Roadie Crew Online Festival, receiving an excellent reception from the event's curators and audience, and is now available through the band's YouTube channel, where you can also check out the music videos and live sessions from Fourkaos' first album.
"Hell is other people" is a famous quote from the French existentialist philosopher and writer Jean-Paul Sartre, who understands the other as a fundamental piece for the perception, understanding, and knowledge of ourselves; that is, the relationship with the other is essential in the construction of our own identity, but this process and this need are not always welcome or harmonious. According to Sartre, before making any decision, we are nothing. We build ourselves from our own choices, which results in much anguish, especially when we realize that our actions are a mirror for the society around us.
From this perspective, "Hell is Others," by Fourkaos, approaches hell far from the doctrinal vision of religion, treating it from an existentialist point of view and reflecting on the human being and the meaning he gives to his own life and his coexistence with others.
