The bassist will be part of the next album
Swedish bassist Magnus Rosén, former member of Hammerfall, has announced his joining the Santos-based band Shadowside. The group, formed by Dani Nolden on vocals, Raphael Mattos on guitar, and Fabio Buitvidas on drums, now includes the renowned musician who was part of Hammerfall between 1997 and 2007, a period in which he participated in several world tours and recorded the albums "Legacy of Kings," "Crimson Thunder," "Renegade," "Chapter V: Unbent," "Unbowed," "Unbroken," and "Threshold," earning gold records and a Grammy nomination with the Swedish group.
Magnus Rosén has also recorded albums with Jorn Lande, Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath), and has just released his tenth solo album, called "The World Changes," recorded with musicians who have played with Hammerfall, Black Sabbath, ABBA, Yngwie Malmsteen, among others.
The virtuoso bassist sent a message to the band's fans: “EO Heavy Metal has a really cool energy that I love and miss, and I think Shadowside has exactly the kind of sound that fits my style! I've always liked Brazil and South America, and after 9 times touring with Hammerfall and solo bass tours in that part of the world, I'm excited to join Shadowside.”
Dani Nolden also made a statement about the musician joining the band: “Magnus is someone we admire very much and it’s an honor to work with him, not only because of his great skills as a bassist, but also because he has incredible experience with many different and special projects. We felt he would fit perfectly into the band, and we are very happy that he accepted our invitation.”
The bassist is already participating in the songwriting process for the new album with Shadowside, which will be recorded between June and August 2016 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
