The event will replace the legendary Rock on the Range
Foo Fighters , System of a Down , and Disturbed will headline the first edition of the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival . The event will take place between May 17th and 19th, 2019 at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
The festival will replace the legendary Rock on the Range, according to promoter Danny Wimmer Presents, who believes it will be the start of the biggest rock festival in the United States. Initially, Sonic Temple will be an event focused on rock and heavy metal, but the change is to expand the lineup possibilities. "The festival will maintain its rock foundation, but fans will see some new things in the program," he says.
The lineup also features the following bands: The Prodigy, Ghost, The Hives, Refused, The Distillers, Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Mark Lanegan Band, Gojira, The Cult, Bring Me the Horizon, Action Bronson, Black Label Society, The Struts and Pussy Riot.
The Cult 's participation in the lineup is extremely special, given that the festival's name was inspired by the album Sonic Temple , released by the band in 1989.
More artists such as Tom Morello, Halestorm, Killswitch Engage, In This Moment, Chevelle, Parkway Drive, Beartooth, Scars on Broadway, Architects, Avatar, Bad Wolves, The Fever 333, Badflower, The Glorious Sons, Issues, Yungblud, H09909, Black Pistol Fire, Scarlxrd, Zeal & Ardor, Basement and The Black Dahlia Murder will also be at the festival.
In addition to musical performances, the festival will also feature comedy shows and other attractions yet to be announced.
