Foo Fighters kicked off their tour last Wednesday, the 24th, with new drummer Josh Freese . The performance took place at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, United States.
In addition to classics like “Everlong” and “My Hero,” the band performed songs from their upcoming album, But Here We Are , which will be released on June 2nd. The tracks include the lead single “ Rescued ,” “ Under You, ” and the unreleased songs “But Here We Are” and “ Nothing At All .” The latter had already been played during the global Preparing Music for Concerts last Sunday, the 21st.
The late Taylor Hawkins was also honored. Besides playing the former drummer's favorite song, "Aurora," Dave Grohl got emotional while performing "Cold Day In The Sun." "Now, I have to say this is something I never thought I'd have to do. I'm going to try to do it. Taylor wrote this song. We used to sing it together. So I'm going to do it for him tonight," said the vocalist and guitarist (via Rádio Rock ).
But the surprises didn't stop there. Violet Grohl , Dave's daughter, participated in the performance of "Shame Shame".
The show marked the return of the Foo Fighters to the stage more than a year after Taylor's death. The group is a confirmed act for the first edition of The Town in São Paulo, on September 9th .
