Foo Fighters share photo from their first ever show to celebrate 25 years as a band

The band also announced that they will be going on tour to celebrate the anniversary

Twenty-five years ago, the Foo Fighters took to the stage for the first time, kicking off a highly successful career that continues to this day. To celebrate the anniversary, the group shared a photo from that iconic day on social media, accompanied by a thoughtful message.

On February 20, 1995, Dave Grohl , guitarist Pat Smear , bassist Nate Mendel , and former drummer William Goldsmith performed together for the first time. The text recalls the moment:

“There’s a moment in every band’s history when you decide it’s time to load the equipment out of the rehearsal space and take the music to the people for the first time. This was ours, 25 years ago today. Keg party at the Marine Store, Seattle, WA…”

The post continued: “25 years later, the fear and apprehension of the stage may have disappeared, but the love of making music with my friends is stronger than ever. Happy anniversary, everyone.”.

This week, the Foo Fighters announced they will be going on tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The Van Tour will take place in the same cities the rock group visited during their first tour in 1995 – in addition to performances at some festivals. See the photo below.
