Foo Fighters replaces Pantera at German festivals after controversy.

The band's participation was cancelled due to Phil Anselmo's past Nazi comments.

Foo Fighters was chosen to replace Pantera at the German festivals Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park .

The announcement was made by the band themselves on their Instagram. They posted a photo with the complete lineup for the simultaneous festivals with the caption: “Germany – we’ll see you on Friday, June 2nd at Rock Am Ring , and Sunday, June 4th at Rock Im Park . Tickets are on sale now!”

Last Tuesday, the 24th, both festivals announced that Pantera's participation was canceled due to Phil Anselmo , who in the past made a Nazi salute on stage accompanied by supremacist comments . The decision came after a speech given at the Nuremberg City Hall by representatives of the political party known as The Greens, who asked that the band's presence in the city be reconsidered.

With the arrival of the new year, the Foo Fighters released a statement detailing their decision to continue the band's work without the late drummer Taylor Hawkins . A few days later they announced their first tour dates since the death of their bandmate – Town festival , which is coming to São Paulo in 2023.

The band was scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza Brazil 2022 , but Taylor Hawkins passed away suddenly just two days before their performance, while the Foo Fighters were on tour in Latin America.
