Foo Fighters released their seventh surprise EP of the year this Friday, the 1st. Titled 02050525 , the work features covers of The Passions and Jawbreaker , as well as b-sides and demos from the session the group did in 2005 for the recording of the album In Your Honor.

02050525 features the hit “I'm in Love With a German Film Star”, originally released in 1981 by The Passions, and “Kiss the Bottle” from 1992 by Jawbreaker. The collection also includes a rare studio version of “Skin and Bones”, a demo of “DOA”, and “Spill”, the B-side of the hit “Best of You”. These were released on the 2005 Five Songs and a Cover

Last month, the Foo Fighters released the EP 01020225 featuring a cover of The Psychedelic Furs and a live version of The B-52's "Planet Claire. In September, the group released the EP 00050525 Roswell with songs recorded in Roswell, New Mexico. That same month, they surprised fans with 01070725 , featuring covers of Arcade Fire and Dead Kennedys.

While releasing various EPs with covers and rarities, Dave Grohl and company are preparing a new album scheduled for release in 2020.
