Foo Fighters released the single “Rescued” this Wednesday, the 19th, their first since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins , and announced their new album. But Here We Are will be available on June 2nd via Roswell Records/RCA Records .
The band had already been sharing mysterious teasers on social media throughout the week. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?", the videos asked. Furthermore, in February, a DJ accidentally revealed the upcoming album .
“After a year of staggering losses, personal introspection and bittersweet memories, But Here We Are is a brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything the Foo Fighters endured last year. It’s a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family. Courageous, damaged and unwaveringly authentic, the project opens with the newly released lead single 'Rescued', the first of 10 songs that range from anger and sadness to serenity and acceptance, and a myriad of points in between,” revealed the statement on the group’s website.
Produced by Greg Kurstin , But Here We Are is the Foo Fighters' 11th album and the first chapter in the band's new life. Sonically channeling the naiveté of the group's 1995 debut, informed by decades of maturity and depth, the work is the sound of brothers finding refuge in the music that united them in the first place 28 years ago, a process so therapeutic because it was a continuation of life (via O Globo ). Foo Fighters are confirmed to perform at the first edition of The Town in São Paulo on September 9th. Even though they are continuing their career without Taylor Hawkins, the band has not yet announced a new drummer.
