The band Foo Fighters has been confirmed as the main cast of the film Studio 666 , a new horror comedy scheduled for release in 2022.

According to information from the specialized website Deadline , all members of the band will be part of the film. The movie has been described as a mix between A Hard Day's Night , the Beatles , and the classic horror film Night of the Living Dead; the production follows the band during the recording of their tenth album in a haunted mansion.

In the story, Dave Grohl is experiencing writer's block and can't move forward with the album. Then, when evil forces in the house sink into his consciousness, ideas begin to flow – but so does blood. "Will the Foo Fighters be able to complete the album and keep the band alive for the tour?", says the released synopsis.

The entire script idea came from Grohl, inspired by the behind-the-scenes of the recording of the album Medicine at Midnight . The recordings took place in the same house where the band recorded the album. “After decades of ridiculous music videos and countless music documentaries, it’s finally time to take it to the next level… A horror comedy feature film,” commented the frontman. “Be prepared to laugh, scream, and headbang your popcorn.”

The production company chosen for the film is Open Road Films, with plans to premiere it in US theaters on February 25th of next year. There is no release date yet for international release.
