Foo Fighters will be the first band to play a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden

The show takes place on June 20th and proof of vaccination will be required of attendees

The first concert at Madison Square Garden at full capacity since the start of the pandemic is about to happen, and the band that will do the honors is Foo Fighters .

On June 20th, Father's Day in the United States, the band will perform for a crowd where all attendees will be required to show proof of having received the COVID-19 vaccine. The last show held at MSG without coronavirus restrictions took place on March 10, 2020, almost a year and a half ago.

MSG Entertainment CEO James Dolan commented on the show (via Pitchfork ): “The Garden is ready to rock. We’ve been waiting for this moment for 15 months and we’re excited to finally welcome a packed house of fully vaccinated and deafening Foo Fighters fans.”

Lead singer Dave Grohl also expressed his delight at the opportunity, which comes just in time to celebrate the Foo Fighters' 26th anniversary. "We've been waiting for this day for over a year. And Madison Square Garden is going to feel it BIG. New York, get ready for a very long night of colossal screams celebrating 26 years of Foos," he commented.
