On Saturday night, the 13th, the Foo Fighters gave their first performance with their new drummer, Ilan Rubin . The former Nine Inch Nails member replaced Josh Freese , who was fired from the band in May . To date, the Foo Fighters have not officially stated the reason for the dismissal .

Over the weekend, the band played a surprise show at the Fremont Theater in California, which has a capacity of 900 people. The performance was announced the day before and featured a 25-song setlist packed with classics and some surprises, such as “Have It All” (played for the first time in a decade), “Alone” and “Easy Target” (for the first time since 2018), and “Exhausted” (for the first time since 2014), according to Kerrang!

On social media, the Foo Fighters welcomed Ilan, who wrote on his Instagram: “Last night couldn’t have been better. After keeping my head down for a few intense months and dedicating myself to the material, that first show was an incredible release of energy. I was overwhelmed by all the positivity and support, and just wanted to say thank you! I’m excited for all the volume and sweat that awaits us.”

This Monday, the 15th, the group will perform again with another intimate show at The Observatory, also in California.
