American citizens seem to be bothered by the Foo Fighters' to the stage – and the reasons have nothing to do with the music.
After being targeted by anti-vaccine protests at their comeback show, the band has now been harassed by members of the Westboro Baptist Church, who have a habit of camping around funerals and entertainment events holding hateful and homophobic signs.
This isn't the first time the Foo Fighters and the faithful of Westboro have crossed paths. In 2011, the band led by Dave Grohl decided to "troll" the Christians by serenading them dressed as characters from "Keep It Clean (Hot Buns)," and repeated the feat in 2015 to the sound of " Rick Roll ." In 2021, the band decided to have some fun with a third prank.
This time dressed as their disco alter ego, Dee Gees , the musicians approached the protest site in a truck, and Dave Grohl spoke with the assembled faithful while the band played the Bee Gees You Should Be Dancing . "
“Okay, ladies and gentlemen, I have something to say,” Dave Grohl began. “Because, you know what? I love you guys. Seriously! From my point of view, I love everyone. And isn’t that what you should be doing? Can’t you just love everyone? Because I think everything is about love! That’s what I think, we’re all in favor of love. And you shouldn’t be hating. You know what you should be doing? You should be dancing!” Check out the comical incident in the video:
