Foo Fighters performed their first show since the start of the pandemic this Tuesday, the 15th, at an event only for people who had already been vaccinated . The decision to restrict access caused outrage among some groups on social media and an anti-vaccine protest outside the venue.

According to critics, the band's decision generates "segregation" and "discrimination" among people. Some posters defended conspiracy theories and, therefore, without any scientific basis, accused the vaccine of being harmful to health or manufactured with "cells from aborted fetuses."

In an interview with CBS , a protester stated that "separating human beings is not right. Those of us with healthy immune systems should have the same right to enjoy this freedom as anyone else."

The performance at Canyon Club in Los Angeles sold out all 610 tickets in minutes and went ahead as planned. The show precedes the band's big 26th-anniversary celebration scheduled for this Sunday, the 20th, with Madison Square Garden authorized to operate at full capacity for the first time since the start of the pandemic. This event also requires proof of vaccination from fans, with the sole exception of those under 16, who must present a negative COVID-19 test to attend.
