The Foo Fighters announced on Tuesday, the 10th, their first shows following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins , which occurred in March 2022.
The band announced that they will participate in three festivals in the United States: Sonic Temple, in Columbus, Ohio, from May 25 to 28; Boston Calling, from May 26 to 28; and Bonnaroo, which takes place from June 15 to 18 in Manchester, Tennessee.
On January 2nd, the group confirmed that they will continue performing, but as a "different band." Check out the full, translated statement:
"As we bid farewell to the most tragic and difficult year our band has ever known, we are reminded of how grateful we are for the people we love and cherish most, and for our loved ones who are no longer with us."
The Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and the continuation of life. And for the past 27 years, our fans have built a global community. A devoted support system that has helped us all through the darkest times together. A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music.
Without Taylor, we would never have become the band we were – and without Taylor, we know we will be a different band in the future. We also know that you, the fans, mean as much to Taylor as he meant to you, and we know that when we see you again – and we will, very soon – he will be there in spirit, with all of us, every night.”
