Flea's book will be released on September 25th
In 2014, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea stated that he was working on a book where he would "share stories from his intense and dynamic life ." He promised to document his upbringing in suburban New York to "his rebellious youth on the streets of Los Angeles .
The book, titled Acid For the Children , will be released on September 25th. The official description of the memoir reads: “The iconic bassist and co-founder of the immortal Red Hot Chili Peppers finally tells his fascinating life story, complete with all the highs and lows you would expect from an LA street rat who became a world-famous rock star.”
Earlier this year, Flea spoke about his past battles with addiction and warned about the dangers of prescription drugs: “I’ve been abusing substances since the day I was born,” Flea told Time magazine. “Every adult in my life regularly numbed themselves to alleviate their problems, and alcohol or drugs were everywhere, always.”
