Flea and John Frusciante released their first collaboration in over 10 years to honor the late Gang of Four guitarist Andy Gill .

The duo reunited for a cover of "Not Great Men," a track originally from the 1979 album Entertainment!, which also features the Silverlake Conservatory Youth . The song will be part of The Problem of Leisure: A Celebration of Andy Gill and Gang of Four , a project originally conceived by Gill to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Entertainment!.

Andy passed away on February 1st, 2020, making the album even more significant. The celebration of the work has transformed into a beautiful tribute to him. Speaking about his participation in this project, Flea said:

“It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with my friends, the groundbreaking guitarist Andy Gill, who shockingly passed away shortly after we recorded the material. This was an act of love for him. John, the kids, and I (directed by SJ Hasman) went into the studio and rocked out for a few days. John and I hadn't recorded together in about 20 years. It was so much fun. Long live Gang of Four, salutes to Andy Gill.”

Listen to the tribute below and stay tuned for more news from the Red Hot Chili Peppers , who are currently in the studio recording their first album with Frusciante since his return.
