The lead singer is struggling to stay sober
Five Finger Death Punch had announced that they would release an album this year featuring their greatest hits and two unreleased songs.
The first track, “Trouble”, has been released and guitarist Zoltan Bathory told The Pulse Of Radio that the lyrics are about a personal experience of vocalist Ivan Moody.
“Ivan is like a hand grenade with the safety pin pulled, about to explode. So he wrote some songs, of course, and I think this one [“Trouble”] is about him, it’s about him being in trouble. You know, he’s straightening himself out. It’s good to see him sober, getting better, so I think this song is now about his past.”
“Gone Away” will be the second new song on the band's upcoming album, and drummer Jeremy Spencer explained the reason for having two new tracks and a compilation of hits.
“I was wondering if we had enough hits, so I checked and we have about thirteen or fifteen radio hits. So we thought about releasing an album with our hits and the record label agreed, so we thought, 'cool, let's add some new songs,' because people already have the album, but now it will be a nice package of different things.”
The album A Decade Of Destruction will be released on December 1st.
