The drummer left the group in 2018 due to health problems
Jeremy Spencer left Five Finger Death Punch in December 2018, surprising many fans with the news. However, the drummer has now moved past that period with the news that he has become a police officer in Indiana, in the United States, where he grew up.
Spencer lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, but chose to serve as a reserve officer in another state because he grew up nearby. “It’s an honor to be able to return to this area where I can serve the community as a reserve police officer and help my brothers,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
When he left the band, the drummer claimed he couldn't handle the physical demands of the job due to his back problems. To be able to work as a police officer, he will need to undergo surgery to replace damaged discs in his lumbar spine. "Once I'm healed, I'll start serving. Since I'm a reserve officer, I'll only do it occasionally."
When asked about leaving the music world, he revealed that he is seeking "new experiences," but does not rule out the possibility of returning to the drums. "I'm busy now, I'm working on other projects. But the fact that I'm no longer in a band doesn't mean I've retired."
