Two months after photographer Astrid Kirchherr died at age 81 Beatles ' photography career has passed away. Photographer Fiona Adams , responsible for taking some of the group's most iconic photos, died at age 84, according to the BBC .

Adams, who had a brilliant career photographing names like Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan during the 1960s, had his name immortalized by having none other than the Beatles behind his lens.

In 1963, Fiona and the quartet took a trip to a war-torn bomb site in London, England. It was at this historical site that the photographer instructed the artists to jump from the top of a crater as high as possible. "I didn't even think to check if it was safe or not," Adams told her friend Lynne Ashton, according to NME .

“I had trouble getting into the crater with my heavy camera case. There was a pile of fallen bricks and debris at the bottom. The boys did their part and stood patiently – beautifully silhouetted against the sky and buildings. I set up my camera and yelled, ‘One, two, three – jump!’ And they jumped – twice. Cuban heels and all,” Fiona revealed.

The risk paid off, considering that the images taken by the photographer that day would be in Boyfriend , and later that same year, were chosen by John Lennon to become the cover of the quartet's first EP in the United Kingdom, the legendary Twist And Shout .
