Pie in the face, special appearances and surprises: find out everything that happened at VIPER DAY 6

Accompanied by lots of music and spoilers, the members of VIPER celebrated this special day with an online event

Last Friday, April 9th, VIPER held the sixth edition of VIPER DAY with a super 3-hour online event presented by Daniel Dystyler and Nando Machado , from Wikimetal . VIPER DAY is officially celebrated on April 8th, the date that marks the band's first show, held in 1985 at Lira Paulistana , in São Paulo. As the celebrations were interrupted in 2020 due to the pandemic, this year's program was boosted to honor VIPER and its fans in the best way possible within the current guidelines.

During the first hour, Daniel and Nando engaged in a super lively chat with band members Felipe Machado , Pit Passarell , and Guilherme Martin . Among various topics, the musicians talked about VIPER's new album, which is still being made, and gave some spoilers of unreleased songs. "I think that with the new album we'll be able to please old VIPER fans, fans of the second phase of VIPER, with him [Pit] singing, and new fans who will appear. I think we'll be able to cater to the tastes of all the fans," stated Guilherme. Shortly before saying goodbye, Pit and Guilherme celebrated the band's anniversary in a humorous way, playfully hitting each other with cream pies.

The event continued with Renato Graccia speaking about the re-release of the album Coma Rage , which also arrived on the 9th as part of the celebration. The remastered edition has ten bonus tracks, nine of which are demos and one unreleased song in Portuguese called "País do Futuro" (Country of the Future). Renato reminisced about his journey with VIPER and spoke about the experience of recording the album in 1994.

In addition to the presence of siblings Ivan and Andria Busic from Dr. Sin , the members of VIPER also received a surprise: a cover of "Prelude to Oblivion " performed by The Skyscrapers as a tribute. The band watched the live performance in the presence of musicians André Bastos and NAZA , who stated that The Skyscrapers only exist because the two met when they went to watch a VIPER rehearsal.

In its entirety, VIPER DAY featured names like Hugo Mariutti , Val Santos , Ricardo Bocci and Yves Passarell , who joined the conversation to talk about the 35th anniversary of the demo "The Killera Sword ." In addition to current and former members, the event also welcomed Marcius Mass and Firmo Jr. , administrators of the VIPERManíacos , representing the legion of fans that VIPER has amassed over the years. You can watch the entire celebration via the YouTube player.
