Final Disaster is working on a short film
Final Disaster emerged in 2013 with the idea of bringing something new to the world of heavy music. Founded by vocalist Kito Vallim , who is also the bassist in Hellarise , the band draws influences from Disturbed, Soilwork, Rammstein, In Flames , and Evergrey .
With a lineup formed among friends, their first work was the single "Another Victim," produced by Edu Falaschi , vocalist of Almah and former Angra member . "Finis Hominis," their second single, features the participation of Maldita , Erich Mariani .
The band's name was inspired by the story of the Final Fantasy game. After several unsuccessful releases, the franchise creator, Sakaguchi, focused his efforts on one last attempt. "Based on that, and being dissatisfied after several attempts with other bands, I decided that if the band was a disaster, it would be the last of my career," says vocalist Kito Vallim.
With a focus on horror, Final Disaster's lyrics always present three different aspects: an allegory, a theme, and a cathartic expression. "All the songs contain an allegory from some film or book. The song 'Oblivion,' for example, is about the film A Nightmare on Elm Street. 'Dark Passenger' is about split personality. We play this game with all our songs.".
The Darkest Path , an EP released in 2017, was produced by Rafael Gazal , vocalist of BulletBack and Tailgunners . With plans to release a full-length, conceptual album in 2019, the band is now working on a short film to be released later this year. "For the new album, we're making everything more complex, because in addition to each lyric having three different themes, each one has to be connected to the story of the CD itself."
Inspired by the song "Oblivion," which involves nightmares and hauntings of the human mind, the animated short film is being directed by Mariana Perin.
The band recently recorded the music video for the song "The Dark Passenger," which will be released soon. In addition, they will participate in a tribute CD to Helloween and another to Deep Purple .
