Fieldy Korn 's original bassist , recently revealed that he hasn't been in contact with his bandmates for about five years.
In 2021, the musician informed fans that he would be stepping away from the group's activities to deal with personal issues. According to him, these challenges caused him to relive negative habits, which ultimately generated internal tensions. As a result, he chose not to participate in the band's tours during that period.
Now, in an interview on the Basement Talk , Fieldy commented on his long absence and the distance from his bandmates. “Since 2019, we haven’t exchanged a single word. The band went its own way and I went mine. They’re a machine, they keep moving forward, and that’s incredible,” he stated.
When asked if he and Korn still have a good relationship, Fieldy stated: “Yes, everything’s cool. It’s nice to see that they’re still going strong. In my case, I’m just enjoying a quieter time.”
In a video published in 2022 (via NME ), Fieldy further explained the "bad habits" mentioned when she announced her break. "I'm feeling great, having a lot of fun. I think I've never been happier," she stated.
The bassist clarified that his absence was not related to drugs, but rather to the occasional consumption of alcoholic beverages after fulfilling his daily obligations. "I don't encourage anyone to do this, but at the end of the day, if I want to have a Bud Light, I'll have one. I'm an adult and I drink as much as I want," he commented.
Since the bassist's departure, the band has relied on Ra Díaz , from Suicidal Tendencies , to fill in on bass duties. Although Fieldy is no longer active in the group, his name appears in the credits of the album Requiem , released in 2022.
