Fernanda Lira comments on her relationship with Nervosa: "There is no resentment whatsoever."

In an interview, the vocalist and bassist of Crypta talks about their relationship with their former band, Nervosa.

Crypta performed at the Brutal Assault Festival 2025 in the Czech Republic in August. During the event, vocalist and bassist Fernanda Lira gave an interview to Extreme Metal TV and talked about her former band, Nervosa.

Asked about her relationship with Nervosa, led by Prika Amaral , and whether there is any resentment, Fernanda Lira responded, emphasizing female representation [transcription via Mundo Metal BR ]:

“There’s no resentment whatsoever. We’ve played with them a few times. We played at 70000TONS OF METAL , and others. So you can’t be fighting in the same metal scene. It wouldn’t be healthy. It’s just a few women playing. If we fight with each other, it’ll seem unproductive. So I think what happened was that over time our relationship deteriorated, you know, we started to drift apart. We weren’t friends anymore.”

She continued: “And it was difficult to write new songs because we weren’t on the same page anymore. And that happens, you know? Like in any relationship, like in marriages, friendships, and professional relationships, and a band isn’t just a band, it’s a very intense relationship, like any other. So it just wasn’t working. We’re not close anymore. And then I decided, because that decision came from me.”

Fernanda concludes by explaining her affection for Nervosa: “I decided it would be best for me, and then Luana thought the same, and I thought it would be best for Nervosa, which is also my baby. Nervosa will always be my baby. It's her tattoo [showing the tattoo on her wrist]. I thought that for the good of the band I helped create, it would be best for me to leave so that we could follow different paths that would be more beneficial for us. The result is there, they are still killing it. We are killing it here. More women having the opportunity to play on big stages.”
