Fernanda Lira , vocalist and bassist of the band Crypta , suffered a severe stomach crisis during their current European tour and required hospital treatment. The band performed in Audincourt, France, last Wednesday, the 7th, without the frontwoman, as reported on social media.

Later, Fernanda Lira posted a story stating that she was "much better" and thanking her fans for their support, promising to explain what happened.

So, the vocalist posted a video about the matter last Saturday, the 10th. As reported by Fernanda, it all started when members of the group's team caught a virus [Transcription via Igor Miranda ]:

“It all started when some people on the tour got food poisoning. It’s something that happens to us, because every day we’re in a different country and each country has different foods, different bacteria, different water, there’s no way we can control it. But after a while we discovered that it wasn’t just food poisoning, it was a virus, which ended up spreading to some other people over the days.”

The musician reported that she began feeling unwell during the show in Lisbon on May 2nd, and then sought initial medical attention.

“I was the last one in the group to catch this virus. It was really tough for me. I started feeling bad after the Lisbon show. Actually, during the show I almost fainted, I had a lot of nausea, dizziness, and weakness. After the show, I had a lot of diarrhea and extreme general malaise, with a fever all night. So, I went to the hospital to try to get medication to recover, to help me be able to do the show in Madrid, and it ended up working.”

Fernanda Lira recounts moments of extreme discomfort.

She managed to recover relatively well, performing in Madrid, Spain, on the 3rd. However, during the early morning hours, the discomfort returned much stronger, including diarrhea and "black vomit." Therefore, Fernanda decided to return to the hospital, which prevented her from playing with the band.

[...]. I spent more than 9 hours in the hospital. That's why we decided the show would go ahead without me, because I was in no condition to be on that stage and deliver a performance. And after those 9 hours of care and treatment, I finally received a diagnosis.”

In addition to viral gastroenteritis, the artist developed acute stomach inflammation. But now, the condition is under control.

Finally, Fernanda emphasized that there is no public healthcare in Europe like we have in Brazil. She also said that she was only able to get medical care because of the health insurance provided by the band.

I saw that I've already received comments from people asking if I used the SUS (Brazilian public healthcare system), and no, I didn't use the SUS, because there's no free public healthcare system here, like we thankfully have in Brazil. I only managed to get treatment because we always get travel insurance for the band, because there's no free treatment here.”
