Felipe Machado , founder and guitarist of VIPER , released today, the 23rd, the newest music video for the track "New York City," remixed by Alex Souza and Fabio Ribeiro, from the band Remove Silence . The song is part of the album FM X: Solo Remixes , an electronic version of the artist's first solo album, FMSolo .
“New York City,” the only unreleased track on the album FMX: FMSolo Remixes, was composed in New York in 2018 and portrays a bit of the musician's experience in the iconic city. “Despite the electronic sound, the song was composed on the guitar. The lyrics attempt to capture a bit of the aura of New York, from people with their heads down on the subway to the steam mixing with the city air,” says Felipe. “It’s my favorite place in the world.”
Furthermore, a legendary location in the city was chosen to inspire the track: the secret New York bar, the Red Room . The venue is located above the traditional KGB Bar , in the bohemian East Village neighborhood. “I was invited to a literary event and then went up to a party at the Red Room. I was impressed by the atmosphere that a place lit only with red light evokes in people; it's something sexy and profane,” says Felipe.
Alex and Fábio also shared their experiences with the release, stating, “We were very happy when we received Felipe's invitation to participate in his remix album. A sensational project, led by a guy with immense experience in Brazilian rock and metal, and now expanded into a beautiful fusion of genres for the universe of electronic music,” says Alê Souza. “It was truly a privilege to be alongside great producers and artists who contributed to this work,” adds Fábio Ribeiro.
The video follows "New Orleans," also featured on the album FMX: FMSolo Remixes , watch it here.
