Felipe Machado released a new single this Wednesday, the 3rd. The new song is a version of "Quinze Anos," originally recorded for the 1996 Tem Para Todo Mundo VIPER .
This version features a special guest appearance by Yves Passarell , former guitarist of VIPER and current member of Capital Inicial . The song will be on Primata , the second solo album by Felipe Machado, founder and guitarist of VIPER. The track is the third single from the album, following "Medo do Novo" and "Na Praia" . The release is by ForMusic Records in partnership with FMLabs , Machado's production company.
“I made this new version of 'Quinze Anos' not only because I liked the song, but because the lyrics seemed very current to me, even though it was recorded twenty-five years ago,” says Felipe.
He continues: “The feeling that the world had changed very quickly inspired me at the time, but I see that it was only the beginning of a process that is now much more intense. The internet had just arrived in Brazil, and today we understand better how technology has impacted the speed of transformations in society.”
Speaking about his participation, Yves said: “Felipe and I grew up together and were already friends before we even turned fifteen. Participating in this re-recording is very special to me because I understand and agree with what the lyrics say: the world really does change very quickly.”
“Quinze Anos” is produced by Val Santos and also features bassist Rob Gutierrez from the band Hollowmind . Rob played with Felipe Machado on the tour for his debut album, FMSolo .
