Felipe Machado , founder and guitarist of VIPER , releases this Thursday, the 14th, the music video for his most recent single “Na Praia”, directed by the musician and produced by his content agency, FMLabs . The single is one of the standout tracks from his solo album Primata , which will be released by the end of 2021.
The images in the music video – where Felipe Machado appears playing guitar and singing – were recorded on Juréia beach, on the north coast of São Paulo, and include aerial scenes filmed with a drone by cinematographer Sandro Rodrigues . “It’s a place I frequent with my family and friends, and since the song was composed among them, I thought it would be perfect to immortalize this beautiful place in the video,” says Machado.
The song's lyrics were inspired by the book On the Beach (2007) by British writer Ian McEwan , as Felipe Machado explains: “The chorus is about a couple discussing their relationship, something that has happened to all of us. You never know where that discussion might lead. The situation may be universal, but the same cannot be said for the setting: while the book takes place in Chesil, a rocky beach in Dorset, 200 km from London, the music video takes place on the north coast of São Paulo, one of the most beautiful places in Brazil.”
“Na Praia” is produced by Val Santos and features backing vocals by Felipe's daughter, Isabel Machado , who also appears in the music video, and singer Bia Rhäissem. The mixing was done by Mauricio Cersosimo ( Emicida, Skank, VIPER) in New York.
