Black brings Feed My Soul to metal.

After six years, Feed My Soul releases their second work, the EP titled Black , which moves the band away from the post-grunge sound that characterized their first album and closer to metal.

With more direct, heavy compositions and striking riffs, the band begins to experiment with elements that had not appeared on the first album, such as guttural vocals, rap lines, and blues, which add texture to this work and function very naturally.

The lyrics continue to offer spiritual reflections, addressing the barriers and conflicts we encounter daily, always from a personal perspective. The EP concludes with a composition that weighs the responsibility for our actions.

The band intends with this EP to pave the way for the release of a second work, which will happen later in 2019. The single "Thankless," which opens the EP, is straightforward metal, fast, heavy, and simple. Using guttural vocals in counterpoint, the song, as the name suggests, addresses the theme of ingratitude.

The second song on the EP, "Unlikely Passages," features Nina Guimarães and, despite incorporating more pop elements, retains the characteristic heaviness of the rest of the songs. The theme addresses depression and the importance of having someone close by during those times.

“No More Time” showcases the band's harder rock side. With a classic feel, the song blends heaviness with blues very well. The lyrics portray a person's struggle against addiction and how it increasingly drowns them in it. The third single debuted on Spotify's official "New Rock" playlist.

“Power of Choice” closes the EP with heavy metal at its peak, once again featuring striking riffs, a strong vocal line in the verse, and a more melodic chorus. The key point is the song's and the work's conclusion with a rap featuring the vocalist of Efésios 6:10, Igor Baldow. In over a minute of lyrics, he synthesizes various events in our lives where our choices become relevant and all the destructive consequences they can bring.
