During an appearance on Moshpit Passion , Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares spoke about how he secured 100% of the rights to the band's name.

Cazares explained that when someone legally declares bankruptcy, it is necessary to list all their assets and possessions. In other words, any debt that exists, whether to a specific person or to an institution, is declared in order to settle the debt.

In this case, the asset being listed for sale was the trademarked name of Fear Factory. “In this specific case, the asset was 50% of the Fear Factory trademarked name,” he explained. “So, what the court does is put your assets up for auction, so whoever buys them, some of the money goes to the people you owe money to. So 50% of the trademark was put up for auction, and anyone could bid.”

It's an open bid, and the guitarist managed to buy the name. He already owned 50% of the rights, so upon reaching the necessary amount to acquire the asset, Cazares didn't miss the opportunity. "I managed to outbid everyone else," he stated.

“I managed to obtain it and now I own all the rights to the name Fear Factory. So I was able to move forward with this album, because a few years ago, we couldn’t even call it ‘Fear Factory’,” he said. “It wasn’t until July 2020 that I was able to recover it and have all the rights.”

In this way, Aggression Continuum was created and is now being promoted.

In addition to recounting the process and development of owning the name, she also spoke, at another point in the conversation, about her addiction to smartphones.

“We can’t live without personal phones, personal computers… People are so obsessed with it, so addicted to it that they maybe don’t even realize it, that’s the thing, and that’s how you get scared. Now, I think AI will take over because we’re going to let it take over,” he stated.
