Fear Factory has begun promoting their highly anticipated new studio album and is also searching for a vocalist to replace Burton C. Bell – and may choose a woman for the position.

After the release of “Disruptor”, guitarist Dino Cazares told Metal Hammer that the genre “will not interfere” with the decision in the auditions for the band's vocalists, which are already in the final phase after receiving videos with the applications.

“It’s an open game. It’s for anyone who can handle the work, anyone we get along with, anyone who can go out every night and make it happen,” he assured. “I’m saying it can be anyone. It’s a little strange for some people to understand that, but I find it very exciting.”.

For Cazares, the first vocal change in the band's history is an opportunity to "create something different," but without changing the band's essence. "Adding a different voice and a new element could bring new life to the band as well. It would just be another chapter in Fear Factory's history," he assured.

The band has been without a vocalist since September 2020, when Bell left the group after 31 years with Fear Factory. The new album, Aggression Continuum , scheduled for release on June 18th of this year, was finalized well before the split and will be the band's last project featuring the singer's vocals.
