Fear Factory 's search for a new vocalist has come to an end! The band began searching for a replacement for Burton C. Bell in the first half of the year and has finally found the right person.
The news was confirmed by guitarist Dino Cazares, who simply described the new member as "somewhat well-known and experienced" in the metal scene. "I'm here to announce firsthand that we've finally decided on the person. I'm not going to reveal who it is yet – not yet," he said in an interview with Bucketlist TV (via Blabbermouth). "As soon as I finish [the tour with Soulfly], I'll go back to Los Angeles, back to the studio, and I'll be writing some new songs with the new singer, because I'd like to introduce him with a new song."
Cazares confirmed that some women auditioned for the position, as it had been announced that gender would not be a barrier in the selection . “But it didn’t work out. Not because they were women or anything like that, because I wanted to choose whoever was best for the job. It just so happened to be a guy,” he explained.
The band has been without a vocalist since September 2020, when Bell left the group after 31 years with Fear Factory . The new album Aggression Continuum , released on June 18, was finished before the split and marks the band's last project with the singer's vocals.
