Fans of Angra were the target of some controversial comments from Regis Tadeu during the music critic and presenter's participation in Rafael Bittencourt 's podcast, Amplifica .
Always critical of the public's idolatrous attitude, having stated in an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour "fans are always idiots, without exception ," Regis specifically referred to Angra fans in the conversation as "one of the most idiotic that exist" for idolizing the band with the same "football fervor" as fans of Iron Maiden , Dream Theater , and Helloween .
At another point, Regis Tadeu described the behavior of the band's worshippers. “They scream, you know those guys who go to Angra shows and sing all the lyrics and all the songs? Everything out of tune, right? Nobody sings in tune. Those people who make those little hand gestures, actually – and this happens with every fan of a band and an artist – they find meaning in the mediocre life they lead during those two hours of the show. It's a moment of worship where they escape a little from their shitty life and devote that love.”
Aware of how part of the audience reacts negatively to Regis Tadeu's comments, Rafael Bittencourt commented on how Angra fans even fight amongst themselves. “Angra fans are like organized fan groups: there's the fan group from the Andre Matos that fights against the Edu Falaschi . And both fan groups fight during the Fabio Lione , so it's a real brawl between them, it's like organized fan group fighting, which is undeniably stupid,” Regis continued.
In the same episode, Regis Tadeu was questioned about the claim that Angra was formed as a boy band and did not retract his statement, despite being in the presence of the band's co-founder. See here .
