The trio Far From Alaska released their newest EP , 3.3, last Friday, the 19th.
The album features three unreleased songs, "Meltdown," "Good Part," and "Secret," the latter with a special appearance by reggae singer Pato Banton .
“In this work we explored our songwriting skills in a style that is outside our comfort zone. This EP is the most radical representation of our search for 'era 3' and we are proud and surprised by the result of this block,” say the members.
3.3 completes Far From Alaska's "era 3," following the EPs 3.1 (2022) and 3.2 (2023), and the band's next album is expected to be released later this year.
“These songs were written by Cris [ Botarelli ] in different contexts, not necessarily related to the band's experience and sound. They were all brought to us in this spirit of 'ah, let's give it a try' and turned out better than we could have imagined,” they say.
The trio spoke about the theme of 3.3 : "That late afternoon on the beach, a little tired from spending the day in the sun, a little quiet, but really enjoying every moment and already missing summer, even though it hasn't even passed yet."
Far From Alaska consists of Emmily Barreto (vocals), Cris Botarelli (steel guitar, synthesizer and vocals) and Rafael Brasil (guitar).
