Half Brazilian and half English, the punk rock band Fantazmaz makes its debut with a self-titled album, full of social criticism delivered with a lot of acidity, sarcasm, and insight.
Chaos is knocking on the world's door, and judging by the various signs bombarding us daily in the news and in conversations, it's all irreversible. The collective anger and frustration of a world without a future fuels Fantazmaz's acidic, ferocious, and fast-paced punk rock on their self-titled debut album, now available on streaming services and vinyl.
Formed in 2019 by vocalist Thami and guitarist Raf Oliver , Fantazmaz found its raw and relentless sound with the addition of bassist Chokito and former UK Subs Jamie Oliver .
On digital platforms, the album is released via Repetente Records , a label run by two musicians from CPM 22 , Badauí and Phil Fargnoli along with artistic director Rick Lion. The album was recorded in two days at Monolith Studio in North London, known for recording metal and hardcore bands.
“It was straightforward and honest,” Thamila recalls. “The songs had been ready for a while, and we thought: why not just release a whole album? So we went in and recorded everything raw, real. It’s our first full album, and we’re dying to see it out there,” she adds.
