James Evans will have to undergo a psychological evaluation

James Evans, a 31-year-old Exodus fan from Kentucky, was arrested last week for posting a snippet of the lyrics to " Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)" .

Evans posted: “Dead student bodies in the hallways, a bloody treaty of hatred spread. Class dismissed is my hypothesis, firearm ends debate” and was arrested for making terrorist threats. Evans has since been released and the case will go to trial in six months. He will have to undergo a psychological evaluation.

“It’s absurd. I feel my civil rights have been violated. The First Amendment, freedom of speech, has been thrown out the window. Even my cellmates thought it was absurd. There were even officers who told me it was absurd and that there was no reason for me to be in jail ,” Evans commented upon leaving prison.

Exodus guitarist Gary Holt also spoke about the situation: “The idea that an individual in this country could be arrested for posting lyrics on Facebook is something I never thought possible in a free society. The song was written from the point of view of a crazy man and in no way encourages this type of behavior.”
