“Thanks to Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach for the blessing,” Radke stated on Twitter while sharing the video of his cover of the song, which shows the vocalist transforming the track into an introspective and melancholic ballad.
“I wanted to reimagine one of the greatest rock songs of the last 20 years because lyrically, it’s very powerful and resonant,” the singer added in a statement. “I received Jacoby [Shaddix]’s blessing and I think Papa Roach is one of the coolest, most humble and down-to-earth bands to date and that inspires me to keep going, as they’ve been so successful for so many years. This is me paying homage in the best way I know how.”
