Faith No More reunited in 2009, but their last performance with Mike Patton was almost 10 years ago. Since then, the band's current situation has been a mystery.

Three and a half years ago, the band canceled all previously announced performances for the fall of 2021, saying that vocalist Mike Patton was unable to perform as expected due to mental health issues, partially exacerbated by the pandemic.

In an interview with Let There Be Talk , drummer Mike Bordin commented on the band's current situation. Asked about the shows that were supposed to happen in 2021, the drummer said [transcribed via Blabbermouth ]: “All I can say is, and I think I want this on record. But we had been rehearsing for six months for those dates. We were rehearsing instrumentally and we sounded incredibly phenomenal.”

“We were ready, prepared […] 36 hours before we were supposed to go on stage, and Mike Patton didn't show up for rehearsal, the only rehearsal we were going to do. And we went to see him and see what was going on. And it became very clear that he wasn't physically able to do it at that moment.”

Months later, Patton performed with his band Mr. Bungle after Faith No More canceled 75 shows and supported the vocalist following his health problems. “In my opinion, my position, my statement on this is that he went from being unable to do the shows to clearly not wanting to do shows with us. And that’s heavy. That’s a big difference. That’s a big difference. And we really didn’t have much dialogue about it,” concluded Mike Bordin.
