Fafá de Belém , one of the most beloved and influential artists in Brazilian music, surprised everyone by announcing the next step in her career. Fafá will release a rock album to celebrate her 50-year career in 2025 (via CNN Brasil ).

According to the singer, the genre has always been present in her artistic influences. In an interview, she talked about her plans: “I want to go down to this 50th-anniversary celebration and look at other places, but I never plan too much because I always let myself be carried away by something new. And then I go with the flow.”

This side of the artist has already appeared in performances of the On The Rock'n Roll , where she revisited rock classics, receiving praise for the way she imprinted her unmistakable voice on songs by artists such as Rita Lee and Led Zeppelin .

It's worth remembering that the artist also performed at Rock in Rio in 2019, in the same lineup that included artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers , Panic! At The Disco , Nile Rodgers & CHIC , and Capital Inicial .

The combination of her striking voice with the intensity so characteristic of rock showed the audience that the singer does, in fact, have an inclination for this musical style.

In previous interviews, Fafá shared that she already had plans to record an album with producer Tom Capone , which would include songs by Cazuza and Frejat . However, with the producer's tragic death in 2004, the project was interrupted (via Rádio Rock ).

More details about the new project will be revealed soon. But without a doubt, it promises to bring the authentic mark of rock combined with Fafá de Belém's identity.

Fafá de Belém: 50 years of musical reinventions

Born in Belém do Pará, Fafá began her career in the 70s and quickly gained prominence in the Brazilian music scene with her unique voice. Her first album, Fafá de Belém (1977), already showed her strength, which over the years consolidated her as one of the most remarkable voices in MPB (Brazilian Popular Music).

Always bringing a mix of influences, ranging from samba to popular music, the singer makes a point of incorporating regionalism and her roots from Pará into her musicality, which continues to enchant different generations even after 50 years. 

Throughout her career, Fafá de Belém has won important awards and innovated in all her musical productions. Fafá has explored diverse sounds, leaving her audience eager for her next steps as she celebrates half a century of her career.
