Fabio Lione, former vocalist of Angra, responded to comments made by his successor, Alirio Netto, regarding the band's current identity. The Italian declared the comment that, after his departure, the group had returned to being "100% Brazilian" as "unfortunate".
During an appearance on the Buongiorno San Paolo podcast , Fabio countered the comment and stated that he had saved a comment on Instagram from a fan who preferred the band to be "80% Brazilian." "I saved the image on purpose when you called me to do the podcast. I swear to you, I found that comment on Instagram: 'I prefer the band to be 80% Brazilian,'" [transcription via Rockbizz ].
But that's my opinion. When someone gave an interview recently saying, 'We're back to being 100% Brazilian,' I think that was a rather unfortunate comment. So, I wasn't surprised by comments like, 'I prefer a band that's 80% Brazilian,'" he added.

In April, during an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil, Alirio celebrated the band's new phase and wished Fábio success. However, the musician had said that, at that moment, Angra had "become Brazilian again" and that this "was a special moment" for everyone.
“Angra will always 'Carry On' and another 'New Era' is coming. With all due respect to my brother Fabio, I love you, you know, Italian? But now the band is Brazilian again, man, and that's something special for us,” Alirio declared at the time [transcription via Whiplash].
