Keyboardist Fábio Laguna presents his new book, Metal on Wheels – Adventures between Heavy Metal and the Crankset. Known for his work with the bands Angra and Hangar , and for his long-standing partnership with Edu Falaschi , the musician reveals how his love for cycling became an inseparable part of his journey.
In the book, Laguna shares experiences from a 38-day tour in 2024 that spanned 11 states and the Federal District. Alongside his routine of rehearsals, shows, and bus travel, he used every break to explore cities, beaches, and trails on two wheels, combining the rhythm of metal with the beat of pedaling.
The stories go beyond road trips. For the keyboardist, cycling symbolizes freedom, resilience, and discipline—values that directly relate to his artistic life. Throughout the book, the reader encounters moments of overcoming challenges, personal reflections, and unusual situations that reveal how cycling has transformed the way he experiences touring.
From Goiânia to Salvador, from Belo Horizonte to the northeastern coast, Laguna narrates adventures that blend humor, emotion, and cultural discoveries. His bicycle took him to improbable landscapes, unexpected encounters, and experiences that would hardly be part of a traveling musician's routine, making each stop unforgettable.
Metal Sobre Rodas also serves as a portrait of bicycle touring in Brazil. Through maps, route tips, and local curiosities, the book connects with both rock fans and bicycle enthusiasts. It shows how two distinct passions can complement each other in a light, fun, and inspiring narrative.
Published by Lagunation Editora , the book features detailed accounts of journeys, reflections on urban mobility, and memories of the pandemic, when cycling became even more present in his life. The result is a book that goes beyond music, offering an intimate look at the choices and experiences of an artist who never stops reinventing himself.
