One of the leading names in hard rock to emerge in the late 1980s, Extreme took only three years to return to Brazil and perform at Monsters of Rock 2026. Led by the brilliant Nuno Bettencourt, the American group is experiencing one of the best moments of its career after the release of Six (2023), but all this without neglecting its classics that still define an era today.
At the peak of his 62 years, Gary Cherone impresses with his enormous vitality on stage. The vocalist easily reaches high notes and exudes impeccable charisma. Bettencourt, on the other hand, is simply a guitar hero who needs no introduction; sporting a Brazilian national team cap, the Portuguese musician was cheered by everyone, including children accompanied by their parents in the audience.
Regarding the performance itself, one word defines it: energy. From beginning to end, the audience vibrated non-stop and sang along to every song on the setlist, especially the timeless "More Than Words," responsible for the most anticipated and emotional moment of the show, duly illuminated and recorded by fans' cell phones. "Play With Me," another big hit from the band, was played right at the beginning and helped warm up the fans for the rest of the performance.
With veteran status in Brazil, the band made its debut here in 1992. Thirty-four years later, Extreme proves that it continues to deliver technical hard rock of the highest quality, with songs that truly speak "more than words.".

A Journalism student and fan of Rock, especially Heavy Metal, he likes bands such as Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, and particularly Iron Maiden, a band he has seen three times, has followed since he was 12, and dreams of seeing a show in London. His first contact with heavy music came playing Guitar Hero, and he never stopped. He has always enjoyed writing and music is one of his passions. Within the genre, he considers Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, and Ozzy Osbourne his idols.
